WINAMAC, Ind. Mrs. Ruth Margaret Benner, almost 44, Indianapolis, died suddenly late Friday afternoon at the Carneal hospital here just two days after she came here to visit her parents, Mr. & Mrs. William Hoch.
Mrs. Benner's death followed a major operation which was performed Friday afternoon.
Well known in Winamac where she resided until twenty years ago. Mrs. Benner was the wife of Mannie Benner, Pennsylvania ticket agent at Indianapolis.
She first complained of not feeling well Thursday evening. Friday noon a physician was called and it was found necessary to perform an immediate operation. Her husband, who had been called from Indianapolis, was the donor of blood in a transfusion which was made prior to the operation.
Although it was believed at first that Mrs. Benner was improving, she succumbed suddenly at 5 o'clock.
The deceased is survived by her husband, two daughters Helen and Annabell, both at home; a brother, Roy, Logansport; and her parents, Mr. & Mrs. William Hoch, who are both seriously ill.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the M. E. church with the Rev. C.C. Jordan officiating. Burial will be made in the Winamac cemetery.
Following preparation for burial at the Kennedy funeral home, the body will be removed to the home of the parents Saturday afternoon.
