Mrs. Belle Hobson Finn was born on February 23, 1860, and departed this life at her home near Hidalgo, June 4, 1938, aged 76 years, 3 months, and 12 days.
She was united in marriage to John Finn on April 1, 1884, and to this union four children were born, John and Joe Finn and Mrs. Bessie Huddlestun of Hidalgo and Will Finn of Newton.
She leaves her children; one brother, Charles Hobson of Oregon; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Her husband and two step-sisters, Mrs. Mary Strader and Mrs. Kate Gilnes, preceded her in death.
She was a loving mother and a kind neighbor and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She resided all her life in Jasper county, uniting with the Christian church many years ago, and living in that faith until called home. She was also a member of the home department of the Sunday school.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at the family home near Hidalgo by the Rev. J.E. Spencer, and burial was in the Aten cemetery.
