She was born on November 5, 1931 to the late Clement Leroy and Bernice Agness (Snyder) Hoberty in Champaign County, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Marlay E. Lacey; brothers: Charles L. and James A. Hoberty and a sister Donna Faye Hoberty.
She is survived by her children: Kathy Henderson, Brenda (Malcolm) Lovelace, Jerry (Nancy) Storts, Jeffery Lacey and Rick Lacey; Brothers: Jack L. (Velma) Hoberty, Steve E. (Judy) Hoberty, and Clement L. (Ruth) Hoberty; sisters: Jean Taylor, Dorothy Miller, Bonnie (Jack) Krichbaum, Shirley (Dale) Jenkins, and Susan (John) Swope; Grandchildren: Jamie Evans, Jason (Misty) Howell, Jacob Howell, Jade Lovelace and Jana Lovelace; Great-Grandchildren: Maddison, Morgann, Leevi, Brianna, Taylor, Destiny, Jason Lee, Misty and Rebecca as well as a Great-Great Granddaughter, Sophia. Joan was a member of Lawrenceville Church of God and retired from Sweet Manufacturing in Springfield, Ohio
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER, Springfield from 5:00-7:00 p.m
Funeral services will follow on Friday, September 13 at 10:30 a.m. also at the funeral home with Pastor Allen Cain officiating
