Mrs. Sarah E. Revels, age 80 passed away at her residence on Route 2, Alma early Friday morning after an extended illness. She was a native of Turner County, Georgia and the daughter of the late Jim Hobby and Martha Ann Smith Hobby. She was also the widow of the late A.B. Revels. She is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. Maude McRorie, of Alma, Mrs. Calvin Chaney, of Waycross, Mrs. F.Y. Spaires of Brunswick, Mrs. Joyce Mansfield of Houston, Texas, 4 sons Stanford Revels, of Waycross, Leo, Curtis, and Ray Revels, all of Alma, and 41 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 O'Clock at the First Baptist Church of Alma with Rev. Walter Boone officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. The following grandsons served as pallbearers: Bobby Revels, Curtis Revels, Jr., Alton Chaney, Roy Revels, Julian Revels, and Edward Grantham. The Bishop Funeral Home of Alma was in charge of arrangements.
