VANCOUVER, Wash.--Glenys Geraldine Engleman, 91, of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Grand Island, died Sunday, July 31, at Vancouver. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Grand Island City Cemetery. The Rev. Schauer will officiate. There will be no visitation. Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bibles.
Mrs. Engleman was born Dec. 3, 1902, at Plano, Iowa, to William and Emma (Fenton) Hixenbaugh. She grew up in Glenys, Wyo., and went to school in Cheyenne, Wyo. and at the University of Wyoming. She married Herbert J. Engleman on July 22, 1923, at Cheyenne. The couple lived in Grand Island from 1923 to 1926, where she was a housewife before moving to Wyoming. She was a member of Cascade Park Baptist Church of Vancouver and the Gideon Bible Auxiliary. She played the organ and piano in church for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert of Vancouver; three daughters, Carol Schauer of Vancouver, Betty Weintz of St. Paul, Minn. and Barbara Erb of Cupertino, Calif.; one brother, Dayle Hixenbaugh of Cheyenne; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
