David D. Hitchings, 74 years old, died yesterday morning at 7 o'clock at his home, 1914 Willoughby avenue. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. D. D. Hitchings, Jr., Two daughters, Mrs. R. M. Warren and Mrs. R. J. Peters, both of Morrison, Va; twenty grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. Mr. Hitchings was a lifelong resident of Norfolk. He was a member of Norfolk Lodge No. 1, A.F. & A. M., and also of Norfolk Lodge No. 12, I.O.O.F. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
