CRASH CLAIMS TV EVANGELIST - Television evangelist Davey Joe Hissom, leader of Charleston's New Life Church, was one of four people who died Monday evening when their twin-engine plane crashed in a rural Ohio cornfield. Also identified as victims were the plane's owner and pilot, Russell Dean Coleman, an evangelist from Craigsville; Earl W. Mullins, a real estate broker; and Fred A. Bailey, an associate pastor at Hissom's church. The Cessna 377 nose-dived in a field of newly sprouted corn 10 to 15 miles west of Hamilton, in southwest Ohio, about 6:55 p.m., killing everyone aboard. Hissom's brother, Jim Hissom, said the group was returning from Cincinnati, where they had been looking at the design of a church. Hissom's wife of 17 years, Rhonda, is a native of the Kenna area. Just last month, Hissom conducted evangelist serrvices at the New Life Church in Ripley. According to a spokesperson at the New Life Church, visitation for Hissom, Bailey and Mullins has been set for Thursday, 6-9 p.m. at the church. Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m.. at the Charleston Civic Center's old coliseum.
