Dangler, Rebecca, the daughter of William and Sarah Hipple, born in Miamisburg, Montgomery County Ohio, 2 December 1826, and departed this life at the home of her son, Wm Roark, near Coletown, Ohio, 19 September 1914, aged of whom with father preceded was united in marriage to Wm Roark. To this union was born 9 children, 6 of whom with father have preceded her to a better home, 1 son and 2 daughters survive. Ellen Stamm, Miamisburg Ohio; Laura Baker of Greenville, Ohio;and Wm Roark near Coletown,Ohio. In her early married life she and her husband moved to Darke County, Ohio and settled on the farm on which she died. During a series of Meetings she untied with the Bethel Reform Church, to which she remained loyal. She with her husband journeyed together a number of years, sharing each other's joys and trials of the early pioneer days.
She was bereft of her husband in 1865, leaving her to fight life's battles alone in rearing her family. She with a mother's untiring love and undaunted courage went forward with Christian fortitude.
In 1871 she married Leonard Dangler, with who she lived until March 27, 1901. Mother Dangler was a woman of many sterling qualities. She was faithful, devoted wife and mother, good neighbor, was ever ready to visit the sick and lend a helping hand in time of need and will be sadly missed in the home. Her sickness was of short duration , all was done loving hands could do, to stay with hand of Death, but when God calls we must respond.
She leaves to mourn her departure 3 children, 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, 4 step children, and 1 brother and two sisters and a host of relatives.
"Dearest Mother though has left us, And our loss we deeply feel, But tis God who has bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal."
Funeral from the Coletown Christian Church, Monday, September 21, 1914 at 10 am conducted by Rev Dek Judy, Of Winchester, Indiana, sermon based on Isiah 64:6. Interment in Greenville Cemetery.
