She worked as a pipe inspector for Republic Steel in Youngstown during World War II and had been a housekeeper for the relatives of Judge Ernest Van Fossan. She also worked with her husband in their lawn mower business and later in their machine shop, Hinten Machine in Leetonia. She was a member of Believers Christian Fellowship in Salem.
She was survived by her husband and two daughters.
