MCGREGOR - Mary Sue Crain, 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

Memorial celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Heyduck officiating. Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Mary Sue was born March 31, 1923, in Crawford, the daughter of William Shankle and Tot Hinds. On June 30, 1940, she married Glenn Crain Jr. and moved to McGregor. She was a homemaker and longtime member of First United Methodist Church. Mary Sue volunteered with Methodist Youth Fellowship, the bereavement committee at the church and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Waco.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; her parents; and two brothers, Edwin and Jack Hinds.

Survivors include a son, Glenn Crain III of Gatesville; two daughters, Suzanne Self of Amarillo and Melissa Lyle of Lubbock; a sister, Wiloma Harrell of Friday Harbor, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Audra Crain of Leander, Glenn Crain IV of McGregor, Christine Jordan of Lubbock, JoLynn Frankfather of Lubbock, Madison and Hugh Lyle of Lubbock and Josh Sparks of Bryan; and four great-grandchildren, Megan, Kaitlin and Emily Murphee of Leander and Glenn Crain V of McGregor.

The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church, 500 S. Madison St., McGregor, TX 76657 or the Mildred and Shirley L Garrison Center, 3710 Fourth St., Lubbock, TX 79415.
