Birth: Sep. 13, 1912
Death: Nov. 29, 1986

Margaret, my mother, was born in Brookly, NY, the daughter of Michael George Huffenus, Sr. (1881-1959) and Margaret Krizanitz (1889-1918).

They had four other children: Eva Helen (1909-1996), Michael George, Jr. (1911-1999), Barbara Christine (1914-2005), and Frederick (1915-1985).

Margaret lived at 1017 Julia St. in Elizabeth, NJ with her husband Marvin Paul Hilts (1910-1981). They had one son: Marvin (1942-), husband of Alice Mae Godfrey (1941-1994).

Their wedding on May 15, 1937 was a double wedding. In addition to Margaret and Marvin, Margaret's sister Barbara "Pinny" married William Taggart.

She was a stay-at-home mom until her son was about 11 years old and then, in 1953, she became a school crossing guard at the corners of Julia St. and Jackson Ave. in Elizabeth and continued there for 19 years, until June 14, 1972. Every child she crossed to and from Lafayette School for those 19 years called her "Aunt Marge".

Margaret's great-granddaughter, Emily Margaret Banasiak lies on the right side of the monument.

I wandered past and noticed you had no flowers. Someone thought of you today.
