1st husband: Leonard M. Fletcher, d. 13 March 1895, Herkimer Co., NY.
"Herkimer Democrat" 2-28-1894: The Rev. B.B. Gibbs officiating. Leonard M. Fletcher of Mohawk, NY and Miss Omega Hilts of Herkimer. The bride is the daughter of George W. Hilts.
Herkimer Historical Society note: The Rev. B.B. Gibbs was the pastor of the Herkimer Universalist Church. (Thanks to Carol Grainger for this info.)
2nd husband: John "Jack" H. Corbett, b. 1871, Utica, Oneida Co., NY, m. 5 Dec. 1927 in Montrose, Susquehanna County, PA although at the time they were living in Utica, NY. His father, Charles Corbett was born in Ireland.
His mother was Amelia Penner Corbett (b. Chadwicks, NY; deceased by 1927).
She had no children from either husband.
In 1930, she and Jack were living with her sister Dora and her husband John Hall at their boarding home in Utica, NY.
1940 U.S. Census for Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA (4 April):
Omega Corbett F 67 New York
sister Florence Christenson F 69 New York
Both sisters were widows. Omega was living in the same place in 1935. They were living at 5525 So. St. Andrews Place.
Omega was the contributor's Great-Aunt. She and two of her sisters went by the nicknames of "Tom, Dick, & Harry." I always knew her as "Aunt Dick". Have never discovered which sisters were "Tom" and "Harry".
At some point in her life, she became a Seventh-day Adventist. The Contributor remembers attending services with her in San Francisco when a child. "Aunt Dick" enjoyed making her own carrot juice. She was a wonderful lady.
