Margaret Elizabeth Hilton Calhoun, 93, formerly of Blacksburg, died peacefully, Wednesday, December 26, 2007, in Manning, S.C., with her daughters at her side. Elizabeth was born September 12, 1914, in Blacksburg, Va., to Samuel Alexander and Margaret Ann Vaden Hilton.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by Robert, her husband of 66 years, December 27, 2001; and all of her siblings, Ambrose and Richard Hilton and Virginia H. Taylor Clark.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Ellen C. Peters (Joe), Manning, S.C., and JoAnn C. Nyggard (Leland), Glen Allen, Va.; grandchildren, Michael Peters (Kristin), Gary Peters (Sherri), Katherine Elizabeth P. Hall (David), Heidi N. Richardson (Geoff), and Chris Nyggard (Jennifer); and greatgrandchildren, Ryan Peters, Ashlyn Peters and Karsen and Kameron Nyggard; several nieces and nephews also survive, Mary Elizabeth T. Lindon, Blacksburg, Va., Lewis E. Taylor, Pfafftown, N.C., Samuel A. Taylor, Eureka, Calif., Lee Allen Taylor, Huddleston, Va., Joan Louise C. Steven and Jane Carson C. Smith, Charleston, W.Va., Jean Kathryn Calhoun, Weston, Mass., and Robert Carson Calhoun, Marietta, Ga.
As per Elizabeths and Bobs wishes, there will be a memorial and inurnment at Sunrise Burial Park, Radford, Va., at a later date.
