Roxie Emma "Smalley" Hilton age 96 years and 9 months of Searcy Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2012. She was born March 26, 1915 in Gravel Hill, Arkansas, the daughter of James Wesley and Minnie "Vardell" Smalley. She was a homemaker by profession and enjoyed working with family on the farm. She was a wonderful cook and was always busy working on beautiful quilts and crocheting doilies, things she displayed in her home and also shared with others.
She was a member of the Griffithville Baptist church. She was a member and past Matron of Ingram-Watkins #548 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a 50 year member of the Walker/Griffithville Extension Homemaker Council.
Roxie was preceded in death by her husband Kermit "Cutter" Hilton (1971); one son, Eulas Luther Hilton (1940); one daughter, Virginia Lee Hilton (1943); her parents, James and Minnie Smalley; six sisters, Bertha Clark, Ella Mae Rascoe, Perlie Free, Janie Hilton, Annalene Brown, Laura Rascoe; and one brother, Johnny Smalley.
She is survived by one son, Clyde Hilton and wife Sandra of Elpaso Arkansas; one daughter, Ruby Self of Joy Arkansas; 7 grandchildren, Jim Self; Kim Self Ivy; Steve Hilton; Bill Hilton; Denise Hilton; Jon Starns; and Ricki Lurak; 10 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday January 5th, 2012 at Roller-Daniel funeral home. Graveside service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Searcy.
