Lois Hill Anderson lived a most wonderful, happy, and fulfilling life! She peacefully returned to Heavenly Father on January 25, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to Clifford Royal and Zella Jolley Hill on April 11, 1929 in Ogden, Utah.
After graduating from Pocatello High School, she attended Brigham Young University.
She married James D. Anderson June 5, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple and they would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this year.
Jim and Lois loved to travel and always held annual family reunions in fun summer locations.
Lois was always active in the LDS Church where she held many leadership positions. She also returned to the University of Utah and received her teaching degree in Business Education, graduating with honors. Her teaching career started at Olympus High School, served as an administrator in business and marketing at the Granite School District Offices, and finished her career by serving as State Specialist for Business Education at the Utah State Office of Education. She served as past president and board member for 20 years with the Utah Chapter of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. Lois loved serving as a hostess for almost 5 years at the LDS Conference Center. She stayed physically active by participating for many years in competitive race walking in the Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George, Utah. This year she was inducted along with her husband Jim into the Huntsman World Senior Games Hall of Fame.
Survivors include: her husband, Jim, and children: Brian Anderson, Bradley Anderson (Shawna), Brent Anderson, Lisa Patterson (Tony). Grandchildren: Josh, Jared, Ashley, Allyson, Austin (Sarah), Bransin, Kaisa, Simon, Jamie, Talyn, Melissa, and Kaylee. Great-grandchildren: Faith and Lily. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jenny Anderson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved so much and her beloved poodle, Kelsey.
