Ida L. Bradt, 97, of Kimball died Sept. 27, 2010, at the Kimball County Manor.
She was born April 22, 1913, to Hiram and Anna Hill in Briggsdale, Colo.
She graduated from Colorado State Teachers College High School in Greeley, Colo., in 1930. After attending Colorado State Teacher's College for two years, she received a teaching certificate and taught school in rural northeastern Colorado for four years.
On March 31, 1934, she married Gerald E. Bradt in Scottsbluff. They resided near Briggsdale, Colo., until 1940 when they moved to Kimball.
She was elected Kimball County Assessor in 1952 and served as county assessor until her retirement in January 1975.
In 1964 she was the first woman to be elected as president of the Nebraska Assessors Association. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women, and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include her daughter, Billee Rosenthal of Littleton, Colo.; son, Jerre of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Rick Rosenthal of Littleton, Colo., Sandy and Scott Hicks of Boulder, Colo., Vicki's husband, Rod Adams of Lakewood, Colo.; great-grandsons, Zachary and Daniel Adams; her brother, Orie (Ann) Hill of Briggsdale, Colo.; sister, Georgia Darr of Greeley, Colo.; brother-in-law, Robert Graham of Greeley, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years in January 2000; son-in-law, Ted Rosenthal; granddaughter, Victoria Adams; brother, Robert Hill and sister, Hazel Graham.
