Mrs. Hillyer Dies in San Marcos, Rites at Rockdale Church
Willie Maude HILYER, 84, died June 1 at Hays Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Rockdale on June 3 and interment followed in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rockdale. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Weatherford Funeral Home. A former resident of Rockland and Cameron, Mrs. Hillyer had lived in San Marcos for a number of years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was bom in Milam County on March 16, 1883 to Henry Clay Wllbum and Margaret Garrison Wilburn and married Leroy H. Hillyer on May 18, 1904 in Rockdale. Mr. Hillyer preceded her in death in 1966. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. R. H Dixon of San Antonio; Mrs. Lucille Holloway and Mrs. Wilma McCoy of San Marcos, Mrs. Ruth Hester of Austin and Mrs. Alex Piasecky of Alexandria, Va.; one son. Leroy W Hillyer of Dallas: 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons.

Mrs. Willie Maude Hillyer, 84, widow of Leroy H. Hillyer, died in the Hays County Memorial Hospital on Thursday, June 1, following an extended illness. Her residence was 529 Lindsey St. San Marcos. She formerly lived at Rockdale and Cameron. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. R. B. Dixon, San Antonio, Mrs. Lucllle Holloway and Mrs. Wilma McCoy, both of San Marcos, Mrs. Ruth Hester of Austin and Mrs. Alex Piasecky of Alexandra, Va.; one son, Leroy W. Hillyer of Dallas; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at the First Baptist Church at Rockdale. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at that place. Pallbearers were grandsons of deceased. San Marcos funeral arrangements were under direction of the Weatherford Funeral Home. Mrs. Hillyer, the former Miss Willie Maude Wilburn, was born in Milan County March 16, 1883, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clay Wilburn. She was married to Leroy H. Hillyer on May 18, 1904. Mr. Hillyer died on June 10, 1966. Mrs. Hillyer was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of San Marcos
