Funeral services for Zoe Hill, 94, a lifetime resident of Wagoner, were held Thursday afternoon in the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W. D. Rogers and Rev. Wayne Naugher officiating.
Mrs. Hall was born February 27, 1895 in Wagoner, Indian Territory to George and Dixie Crow. She died Tuesday, February 28, 1989, at Ross Nursing Home #2. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Order of Eastern Star #34 in Wagoner. For more than 30 years she was employed in the office of the Wagoner County Clerk.
In the early years, Mrs. Hill taught at both the North and South Schools in Wagoner. She was a graduate of Central State College in Edmond.
Survivors are her son, Bob Hill of Wagoner; a granddaughter, Kay Chastain, her great grandson, Ben Chastain, three nieces and a nephew. A son, Jack, preceded her in death in July 1948.
Pallbearers were Charles Harris, Norvin Childress, John Sleeper, Jamie Cannon, Judson Jones and Davis Iness. Honorary pallbearers were Earnest Wilmoth, Dale Choate, Roy Choate, Pete Stauss, Lester Foutch and Earl Foutch. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, Arrangements were by Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner.
