David Edward was born on the bank of the Trinity River in Dallas, Texas, to the late William Robert and Mable Hill. He was an ordained Pentecostal preacher and was always happy to teach God's word, even on his hospital bed.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eva Nell; a son, Timothy Hill; a grandson, Darrell Gragson; a great-granddaughter, Cassie Walters; six brothers; and a sister.
He is survived by sons, James Hill and wife, Trena, of Dallas, Mark Hill and wife, Sue, of Frost, and David Ray and Cindy Hill, of Waxahachie; daughters, Charletta Gragson and husband, Carl, of Cedar Creek, Alice Thorneberry and husband, Jerry, of Frost, and Dianna Bailey and husband, David, of Waxahachie; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
