Mrs. Emma Hill, who for the past twenty years has been a resident of the Divide in Douglas County, passed away at the home of her son at Irving this (Friday) morning. She has been a sufferer from liver trouble but it was only two days ago time her condition became critical. Grandma Hill had reached the ripe old age of eighty-one years. Her presence will be missed by a large circle of friends. The sympathy of all be extended to the surviving relatives.

Grandma Hill, mother to Ike, John and Jim Hill passed into the Great Beyond Friday morning at 6:00 o'clock. Her passing was gradual so came as no great shock to those who were close to her. It was thought the funeral would be Sunday, December 15th, but definite arrangements have not been made. Those dear to her have the heartfelt sympathy of the community.

Emma S. Hill was born April 18th, 1838, and died December 13th, 1918, at the home of her son, John Hill, of Irving, Colorado, being eighty years, seven months and twenty-four days old. She was married to George W. Hill June 11, 1865, in Illinois. They came to Kansas in 1880, and lived there until 1898, when they came to Douglas County, Colorado, where she lived until her death. There were seven children born to this union, two daughters and five sons. One son, George, died in 1878, one daughter, Mary, died in 1885. And another daughter, Margarett, died 1889. Her husband George W. Hill, died January 30, 1908.

Richard A. Hill, of Hayden, Francis M. Hill, of Caney, James F. Hill, Isaac N. Hill, John W. Will, fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren remain to mourn the loss of a loving mother and grandmother.
