Shirley Ivalee Evans, daughter of Frank Wesley and Nell Arnold Hill, was born, September 5, 1936 in Independence, Missouri. She departed this life, Saturday, April 19, 2014, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-seven years, seven months and fourteen days.

On December 21, 1952 in Raytown, Missouri, she was united in marriage to James Carlisle Evans and to this union two children were born. Together they shared sixty-one years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters, Charla Nell Hill and Sharon Keeran and two brothers, Wesley Hill and Paul Hill.

Survivors include her husband, James Evans of Camdenton, Missouri; a granddaughter, Jessica Staciwa Myers and husband Larry of Camdenton, Missouri; two great-granddaughters, Hailli Myers and Ryne Myers and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Shirley was raised in Independence and after her marriage made her home in Independence before moving to Raytown for nearly thirty years. She moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 1976. She drove a school bus for the Raytown School District for eight years. She and her husband owned and operated J&S Custom Upholstery in Greenview.

Shirley was raised in the Baptist faith. She was a member of various quilt clubs and red hat clubs.

In her spare time she loved to be outdoors and garden. She had a knack for growing roses and other flowers and doing landscaping. She enjoyed attending her granddaughter’s and great-granddaughter’s events. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining on her patio.

She was a loving wife, grandmother and great-grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to Camdenton School Buddy Pack Program and left at the funeral home.
