Dorothy A. Patterson, 91, of Homer City. died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at the Communities at Indian Haven. A daughter of Heath and Mae Hilliard, she was born April 18, 1916, in Yatesboro. She was a lifelong member of the Homer City United Methodist Church and 1934 graduate of Homer-Center High School. She devoted her life to taking care of her husband and five children. She is survived by two sons, Dennis and wife Rhonda, Youngsville, and Randall, Homer City; two daughters, Lynn Yanity and husband Fred, Johnstown, and Elaine Burns and husband James, Marion Center; a sister, LaVonne Horn, Homer City; four sisters-in-law, Vie, Dorothy and Ilse, all of Homer City, and Claudine, California; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Carol; her husband, Clair; six brothers, Ward, Wendell, Ronald, Bernard, Harold and Clair Hilliard; and sister-in-laws, Kitty and Margaret Hilliard. Friends were received at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Homer City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Stains officiating. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
