VASSALBORO - Adam J. Hikel, 85, of Vassalboro, passed away July 7, 2014, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. He was born May 19, 1929, the son of the late John Hikel and Tutla Corey Hikel. He was educated at Waterville High School and the University of Maine.
Adam was a leather finisher and salesperson. He enjoyed golf and sports.
He served in Korea while in the Army and received several medals from his brave actions.
Adam is survived by his wife, Rita (Theriault) Hikel; three children, Anne El-Habre, Joseph and Adam; one grandchild, Ian El-Habre; and by several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Rev. Larry Jensen and Kevin Michaud for their superb support.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church, 3 Appleton St., Waterville, ME 04901.
