ROCKTON - Myra E. Brady, 75, of 504 Grove St., Rockton, died at her home, Aug. 21, 1989 after a long illness.
She was a lifelong area resident. She was born Nov. 6, 1913 in Sylvan Township, Wis, the daughter of Lansing and Emma Ann Coulter Higgins. She married Gilbert Brady Sept. 8, 1934 in Belvidere; he died in May of 1979.
She was an Avon representative in the Rockton area for many years. She was a member of the Rockton United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and was very active in church activities. She was a member of the State of lllinois election board. Her husband was the cemetery sexton for Rockton.
She is survived by four children, Donna M. (Paul) Slabaugh of Caledonia, Ill., Richard (Marie) Brady of Rockton, James (Sharon) Brady of Oceanside, Calif., Linda (Tom) Woodward of Roscoe; eight grandchildren; eight great grandhildren; four sisters, Mildred Young, Marie Miller, and Helen Brandt, all of Janesville, Kathleen Morrison of Philadelphia, Pa.; several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a sister, Marjorie Waller and a brother Robert Higgins.
Services will be 1 p.m Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Rockton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Berman officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer Blackhawk Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Northern Illinois Hospice or the Rockton United Methodist Church.
