Helen Chastain
Services for Helen "Grandma" Chastain, 91, of Whitehouse, were held Apr. 4 at Stewart Family Funeral Home inTyler. Burial was in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Chastain died Apr. 1, in Whitehouse.
She was born Oct. 13, 1914, to the late Robert O. and Dovia Helen Geddie Higginbotham. She retired as a seamstress from R.L. Davis Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, A.O. Chastain in 1992; daughter, Betty Brewer; and four brothers, J.W., James, Roland and Nolan Higginbotham.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Foreman of Tampa, Fla., Janice Crowder and Rebecca Spencer, both of Whitehouse; sisters, Edna Mullins of Fort Worth, Dovia Lea Lamb, Dorothy Lamb and Lillian Meriweather, all of Irving, and Juanita Ward of Van; brothers, Charles Higginbotham of Tyler, and Vernon Higginbotham of Timpson; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Joe Spencer, Jimmy Spencer, Jeremy Spencer, Fred Lancaster, Danny Kemp and Kenny Kemp.
