G. Berniel Butler, 90, of Niles, MI passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
She was born July 25, 1921 in Bremen to Charles & Jennie (Arnold) Hiester. On June 7, 1953 she married Lawrence W. Butler in at the Bremen First United Church of Christ. He survives.

Berniel was an RN, graduating from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in South Bend, after graduating from Bremen High School in 1939. She and her husband were members of Hope Community Church of Niles, MI and attended Bayshore Gardens Community Church in Bradenton FL.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Lawrence of Niles, MI, 2 daughters Katha (Michael) Machalleck of Vandalia, MI & Jill (Roger) Jirikovic of Davison, MI, 3 grandchildren: Brian, Lori & Kristi, 3 great-grandchildren: Addison, Brynn & John and 1 sister Gretchen (Dean) Kimble of Bremen.

She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Michael Smith. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 – 8PM on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the funeral home.
