San Acacio, Colo. resident James Dewitt Cape Jr, 76, passed away Aug. 9, 2007, at his home. James was born April 5, 1931, in Oconnee, Ga. the son of Jesse and Ada Hicks Cape. He was happily married to Wanda Smith Cape for 23 years. James enjoyed carpentry work, working in his yard, and spending time with his loving family.
Survivors include daughters Jacqueline Cape of San Acacio, Gloria Hutting and Nell Davis both of Cumming, Ga, Ronda Gust of Dahlonega, Ga, Mia (John) Redd of Dawsonville, Ga, Brenda (Clarence) Gravitt of Alpharetta, Ga, Becky (Freddie) Mills of Rome, Ga, Gail (Dennis) Hall of Dahlonega, Ga.; sons Brian Cape of San Acacio, Allen (Pam) Cape of Cumming, Rodney (Brenda) Cape of Dawsonville; also survived by 34 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters Mildred Smith of Newnon, Ga., Mary Freeman of Griffin, Ga., and Doris (Jimmy) Black of Decator, Ga; brothers RH (Alice) Cape of Jefferson, Ga, Willard (Murner) Cape of Griffin, and Curtis Cape of Griffin, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. James was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Ada Cape, son James E. Cape and grandson Dwayne Callahan.
A graveside service were held on Sat, Aug. 11, 2007 at 11 am at the San Pablo Presbyterian Cemetery in San Pablo. Arrangements in care of Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
