Edna C. Bearfield, 93, a resident of the Watson Memorial Home, Warren, Pa., died Saturday evening, May 28, 2011 at the Golden LivingKinzua Nursing Home, after an illness of the past five months.
She was born January 23, 1918 in East Brady, Pa., to the late Samuel and Bertha Burdett Hicks. She has been a resident of Warren since 1960 and was employed with the former Quality Markets, retiring from there in 1980, after 18 years service. She was a member of the former Starbrick Community Church and a former member of the Baptist Church of East Brady, Pa.
Edna was a former volunteer at Warren General Hospital and the Conewango Towers.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Henry and husband, William of Frewsburg, N.Y.; her son, Larry A. Bearfield and wife, Judy of Haines City, Fla.; six grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; two greatgreatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Thomas K. Bearfield, who died December 23, 1986, whom she married July 3, 1936 in East Brady, Pa.; one son, Thomas K. Bearfield; four brothers, James, Samuel, Arthur and Mason Hicks; and one sister, Mary Cochran.
