Peggy Bennett, 56, of Osage, OK passed away in Tulsa on Friday, December 31, 2010. She was born in Helena, Arkansas on June 24, 1954 to Bessie (Wilson) Hicks. In later years Bessie married Tom McDaniel and Peggy grew to love him as a father. Peggy was a homemaker, and enjoyed time that she was able to spend with her grandchildren and she felt a special bond with each of them, although they all had their distinctive personalities. She was a yard person and worked in her yard a lot. In her spare time she liked to listen to music, work Sudoku puzzles and Crossword puzzles. Peggy had a nature and demeanor that drew people to her and she made everyone feel welcome and accepted. It was hard not to love her and want to be around her.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy Bennett of Broken Arrow, a son, Michael Bennett and wife Vicky of Broken Arrow, her mother, Bessie McDaniel, four grandchildren, Michael Lauscher, Kalyn Lauscher, Amanda Bible, and Gage Bennett, three sisters, Judy Lloyd and husband Butch, Sandra Hicks, and Tammy Bell and husband Jeremy, two brothers, Kenneth Hicks, and T.J. McDaniel and wife Janet. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Tom McDaniel, and two brothers, Troy Hicks, and Michael Hicks.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2011 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Highway 48 in Mannford with Rev. Robert Martino officiating.
