John Hicks Jr., an auto mechanic for 20 years, died Jan. 31 at Brookside Hospital in San Pablo. He was 48.
The Pittsburg native and resident graduated from Pittsburg High in 1966. He served in the Army from 1968 to 1970.
He is survived by his son, Keith N. Hicks of Bay Point; mother, Minnie Hicks of Pittsburg; brother, Michael Hicks of Pittsburg; sisters, Robbie Lawrence of Bay Point and Lynette Hicks of Antioch; and two grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cooper's Mortuary Chapel, Pittsburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. Burial at Memory Garden Cemetery, Concord.
