Obituary: Jefferson City Post Tribune, Wednesday, December 24, 1997

Harry Hicks, 82, Iberia, died Tuesday at Capital Region Medical Center-Southwest. He was born December 25, 1914, in St. Anthony, a son of George and Emma Pendleton Hicks. He was married April 25, 1934, in Iberia, to Pauline Jones, who survives at the home. He worked as a welder at the Hazelwood School District in St. Louis County, retiring after 21 years. He attended Ferguson Church of the Nazarene, St. Louis County, for 24 years, and the Iberia Church of the Nazarene for 10 years.

Other survivors include five sons: Jack Hicks, Orchard, Texas, James Hicks, Rocheport, Layne Hicks, Hillsboro, Robert Hicks, Mexico, and Glenn Hicks, St. Peters; two daughters, Naomi Umfleet and Paula Hicks, both of Iberia; two brothers, Guy Hicks, St. Elizabeth, and Paul Hicks, Belleville, Illinois; two sisters, Anna Hibdon, O'Fallon, Illinois, and Esther Hoit, Belleville; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. John Bouldrey will officiate. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
