J.C. Heywood

J.C. Heywood, 52, died Saturday, May 15, 1999 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, New Jersey. He was born in Ogden, Utah, on October 29, 1946, to the late Alan Maurice Heywood and the late Jeanine Sypher Rust. He lived in Pittstown, New Jersey for the past four years, and previous to that, he resided in Ogden, Utah and Columbus, Ohio.
Mr. Heywood graduated from Ben Lomond high School in 1964. he attended Weber State University and graduated from the J.L. Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He also is a graduate of Stanford University Senior Executive Program and the Darden Graduate School of Business "Creating the Future" program at the University of Virginia.
He was a highly decorated veteran of the Marine Corps, having served in Vietnam from 1966 through 1967.
He started his career in finance in 1968 and retired from Beneficial Management Corporation as an Executive Vice President. He currently was serving as Chairman and CEO of Centex Financial Services in Dallas, Texas. At Beneficial Corporation, he had reporting responsibilities for the majority of the company's business units, including: Beneficial Mortgage Corporation, a nationwide sub-prime lending company comprising retail, direct marketing, and wholesale lending; Personal Mortgage Corporation, a telemarketing lender; and five of the eight regions of Beneficial's consumer lending division.
He was married to Julie Anderson on April 9, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clinton New Jersey Ward.
Mr. Heywood is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Julie Heywood, Pittstown, New Jersey; a daughter, Jennifer Ann Heywood, Pittstown, New Jersey; a son, James C. Heywood, Pittstown, New Jersey; and his grandson, Parker Adam Heywood, also of Pittstown, New Jersey; three brothers, Alan Ray, Roy; Harry, West Weber; and Gary, Hooper; his step-mother, Elaine Heywood, Ogden; and his mother-in-law, Fawn Anderson, Ogden.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 24, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, with President C. Robert Sanders conducting. There will be viewing hours from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, and from 10-10:45 a.m. on the day of the service. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
