Cloerine Bostick Hewlett
May 16, 1924 ~ April 22, 2006
Cloerine, daughter of Howard and Hazel Bostick, was born May 16, 1924 in Glasgow, Kentucky. She went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2006 surrounded by her husband, children, sisters and other family members. After graduating from Merced High School, she married the love of her life, Ernest Hewlett. She made a loving, Christian home for their family. They moved to Le Grand in 1950 to farm, and in 1955 they began buying and shipping antiques from the East Coast and spent over fifty years working side by side in their antique business. Along with their children, and with the help of many family members and friends, they began their antique auctions in 1982.
Cloerine enjoyed hosting holiday parties at her home in Le Grand and is loved and cherished by all of her family and countless friends. Cloerine lived her life by trust and faith in God. In a letter she wrote, "I'm just where God has wanted me. If I can help someone in any Christian way, I feel I am being a missionary for him... Sometimes we grow weary and our boots get mighty heavy with problems, but a kind word, a smile, or a chuckle may help someone else who is wearing a heavier load than yourself".
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, three sisters and two grandchildren.
