DEATH REMOVES AMOS H. HETRICK
FATHER OF MAYNARD HETRICK, FORMER LOCAL TEACHER, DIES
Amos H. Hetrick, 72, of Craigville, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Wells County Hospital, following an illness of four days. Death was due to complications.
He was the father of Maynard Hetrick, Decatur teacher and former resident of Berne and teacher in the Berne school for many years.
Born August 16, 1875, in Adams County, the decedent was the son of Amos and Catherine Diehl Hetrick. His marriage Dec. 26, 1895, in Monroeville, was to Rosie Abbot, who survives. Mr. Hetrick resided his entire life in Adams and Wells Counties.
Surviving besides the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Arie Heckley, of Tocsin, Mrs. Robert Wolf, of Craigville, and Mrs. Mabel Schlickman, of Gibson City, Ill.; two sons, Maynard Hetrick, of Decatur, and Donald Hetrick, of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Rosie Uhrich, Mrs. Ella Brown, and William Diehl, are deceased.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Craigville, of which Mr. Hetrick was a member, in charge of Rev. J. F. Bright. Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery.Adams County, Indiana Historical Museum "1947Dec-Apr1948 Scrapbook"
