Graveside service: 3 p.m. Tuesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 1 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Iris was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Epps, La., to Andrew Byron and Ethyl Donnan Hester. She graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth and had lived in Fort Worth, Wichita Falls, Gainesville, Arlington and Denton.
Iris was a member of Handley United Methodist Church. She was married on Aug. 1, 1941, to Ben Clement Armstrong Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Genelle Jeffries Burfischer.
Survivors: Son, Ben C. Armstrong Jr. and wife, Sandy, of Denton; daughter, Clara Armstrong Rogers and husband, Frank, of Denton; grandson, Franklin L. Rogers and wife, Pam, of Keller; granddaughter, Amy Rogers Miller and husband, Greg, of McKinney; great-grandchildren, Raven, Gavin and Benjamin Rogers and Brian and Kate Miller; sister, Maggie Lucille Hester George; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
