Mrs. Mary B. Hess Died on Wednesday From Paralytic Stroke
Mrs. Mary Booher Hess died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ollie McAllister, in Canton Wednesday, June 24th, from an illness of only two days. Two days prior to her death she was stricken by appoplexy and from the first there was little hope for her. Mrs. Hess had made her home with her daughter, as did her husband before his death in 1932, for the past ten years. While she had not been in the best of health for some time she was able to be up and around the house and there was no indication that she was ill.
She was the mother of six children, four of whom ppreceded her in death. The surviving daughters the Mrs. J. E. McAllister of Canton and Mrs. Cora Hartley of Quincy. Until ten years ago Mrs. Hess and her husbannd were residents of the Ursa, Ill., community and Mrs. Hess was a member of the Methodist church in that place and was a devoted member until her death.
The funeral was held at the residence of Mrs. McAllister on Third street Friday, conducted by Rev. Parsons, of Quincy. Burial was made at Forest Grove cemetery.
During all the years since the death of her husband she has had the devoted attention of her daughter with who she made her home and all that was possible was done for her. Mrs. McAllister and her son are mourning her death
