YORK Elizabeth M. Baer, 85, died Friday, February 2, 2007. She was the wife of the late George A. Baer. Mrs. Baer was born in York, a daughter of the late Amos W. and Margaret Aulbach Herrmann. She was a graduate of William Penn High School, 1939, and Duke University, 1943, where she was president of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was a teacher at Hannah Penn Junior High for five years, a Sunday school teacher at Trinity First Reformed Church, a member of the Junior League, a Girl Scout Leader, a York Hospital Volunteer, and a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. At the time of her death, she was a member of the YCPASR retired teachers' organization and the York County Heritage Trust and their Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Baer is survived by two daughters, Barbara L. Brady and her husband, James and their children, Lauren and Brian of Ridgefield, Conn., and Nancy E. Gresham, O.D., of Savannah, Ga.; and a sister, Mary Louise Herrmann of Sister Bay, Wis. Mrs. Baer was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Ann Baer. The service and burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery were private and handled by Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., York.
