Mrs. Carrie Eiker, wife of Jacob P Eiker, died at her home near Fairfield, Tuesday afternoon at 3:25 from a stroke of apoplexy, aged 37 years. She was taken ill on Monday and did not regain consciousness.
She leaves her husband and the following children, all at home; George, Elizabeth, Samuel, Gilbert, Raymond, Hazel; also her father, Abraham Herring, of Freedom township, and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Edward Hoffman, of Hanover; Henry Herring, of Iowa; Mrs. Ella Sites, of Oklahoma, Washington, Grant and Joseph Herring, of Freedom township; Mrs. John Houck, of Emmitsburg; Mrs. Samuel Keckler, of Gettysburg.
Funeral services at the house Friday morning at 9:00, conducted by Rev. V.G. Hartman. Interment in Fairfield Cemetery.
