Aurora Herrera, age 74, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2010. She was born on January 2, 1936 in Sapello, NM to the late Jacobo and Rafaelita Trujillo. Aurora worked in the Albuquerque Public Schools as an educator for thirty two years. Aurora was devout Catholic from Sangre de Cristo Parish and a member of various prayer groups. She was the wife of the late Lloyd Herrera. Aurora was preceded in death by her grandsons, Sundance Solomon and Shamash Crawford and brothers, Doroteo and Jacobito Trujillo. Aurora is survived by her children, Yvonne Crawford, Lolanda Anna Solomon, Jesse Herrera and wife Elaine; grandchildren, Joaquin Lucero, Janel Herrera, Clarissa Herrera and friend Arthur Duran, and Sean Herrera; great grandchildren, Drew Crawford, Chase Crawford and their mother, Kim Crawford, and Alissa Duran; brothers, Ignacio Trujillo and wife Bertha from Las Vegas, Gene Trujillo and wife Barbara, Eddie Trujillo and wife Theresa, Jose Trujillo and wife Josephine all of Denver; sisters, Pauline Romero from Las Vegas, Berna Madrid and husband Rumaldo, Theresa Lovato and husband Rudy from Sapello and numerous loved nieces and nephews, and lots of fun loving friends who will miss her dearly. A Rosary will be recited at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria NE. Albuquerque, NM. 87112, on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas, New Mexico, on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Nite Owl (Civic Center). Burial will then take place at the Canoncito de las Manuelitas Santo Nino Camposanto at 3:00 p.m. The family would like to express their gratitude and sincere thanks to Heartland Hospice and Staff for their care and concern for Aurora and our family during this difficult time Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW.
