Lola Bay, 87, of Richmond, MO, formerly of Excelsior Springs, MO, died Friday, August 13, 2004, at the Shirkey Leisure Acres Nursing Home in Richmond. Mrs. Bay was born October 26, 1916 in Rayville, MO, to W.C. and Minnie (Branson) Herod. She married Homer J. Bay of Kansas City on February 14, 1966. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bay had worked in the business office at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kansas City.
She was a member of the Flack Memorial Christian Union Church in Excelsior Springs.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Sharon McMullen of Richmond; two step-sons and theri spouses, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bay of Wichita, KS; and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bay of Lone Jack; one step-daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Chapman of Lee's Summit; three sisters-in-law, Marie Herod of Kansas City; Mary Herod of Lawson; Helen Herod of Richmond; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Herod, Ralph Heron, and Fred Herod.
Funeral services were August 16, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with burial in the Old Union Cemetery, Lawson.
