Mrs. Hernandez died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at her home in Carlsbad.
Terpening and Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hernandez was born Feb. 17, 1950, in Presidio, Texas, the daughter of Inocente Alvarado and Albina Salazar Alvarado.
On Aug. 16, 1972, she married Espi Hernandez in Carlsbad.
She came to Artesia in 1964 from Loving and moved to Carlsbad in 1998. She was a housewife.
She was a Catholic and very active in crafts and flower arranging.
Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her husband, Espi Hernandez of the family home; father, Inocente Alvarado of Artesia; sons, Joel “Yayo” Hernandez and wife, Chenay, and William Hernandez all of Artesia; daughters, Cryselda Hernandez of Artesia, and Michelle Hernandez of Albuquerque; brother, Margarito Alvarado of Artesia; sisters, Maria Marquez and Ramona Galindo and husband, Joe, all of Artesia; grandchildren, Samuel VanAtta, Jacob Hernandez, Issac Hernandez, Damian Hernandez, Rhiannon Hernandez and Oriana Hernandez.
Pallbearers will be Luie Granger, Don Titus, J.D. Graham, Jeff Zuniga, Dominic Marquez and Julian Olivas.
