Funeral services for Elizabeth "Betty" Onkka Cann, 60, were at Kehl's Palmer Mortuary. Mrs. Cann died at the Valley Hospital in Palmer.

Born in Fort Sill, Okla., she came to Alaska in 1935 with the Matanuska Colonists. In 1936 she married Matt Onkka, and was the first colonist to be married in Palmer. in 1969, her husband died. She worked at the White Alice site at Neklasson Lake from 1969 until her death.

She leaves her second husband, Ralph Cann of Palmer; a daughter, Anna Ryan of Houston, Texas; five brothers, Harold, James, George and Neal Hermon, all of Palmer, and John Hermon of Hope, Ind.; her mother, Hilda Hermon, and a sister, Doris Fritz, also of Palmer.

Memorials may be made to the local cancer fund.
