Nancy was a graduate of Mercyhurst Seminary and continued her education at Mercyhurst College, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. She taught at Hamilton Grade School until her marriage in 1960.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Ken Hermen; her children, Kenny Hermen of Boise Idaho, Julie Vanwinkle and her husband, Joe, of Erie, Mike Hermen and his wife, Heather, of Sedona Ariz., and Jennifer Beale and her husband, Scott, of High Point N.C.; her grandchildren; her brothers, Tom Smith and his wife, Audrey, David Smith and his wife, Sherri; and sisters, Geraldine Gromacki and her husband, Tom, and Marilyn Temple; and many nieces and nephews.
Entombment in Mary Queen of Peace Mausoleum.
