MRS. VINCE HERINK, LIFELONG TAMA COUNTY RESIDENT DIES
A two-week illness of flu and pneumonia proved fatal at 3:45 p.m. Sunday to Mrs. Vince Herink at her home west of Clutier. Her condition had been critical several days and death was not unexpected. The funeral service was held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at the St. Vaclav church, following a brief service at the home at 9:00 o'clock, and was attended by a large crowd. The Rev. Thomas Vopatek was in charge. Burial was in St. Vaclav cemetery.
The decedent was 65 years old and sent her entire life in Tama county. Her maiden name was Agnes Nachazel. She was a daughter of John and Kate Nachazel, east Tama pioneers. Most of her life was spent in York and Carroll townships. She was married to Vince Herink 42 years ago. The couple lived first in York township the in Howard and finally in Carroll. They were the parents of nine children, three of whom died in infancy. The remaining six, all of whom live near the home farming Carroll township are Edward, Emil, William, James, and Joe Herink and Mrs. William Novotny.
The decedent also leaves one brother – Joe Nachazel of Chelsea. Joe and John Nachazel of Carroll township are nephews.
