Anna Joanna Herbig was the fifth child of Frank Herman Herbig and Elisabeth Beyerl of Penig in the Chemnitz area of Saxony, Germany. Her mother immigrated in July of 1892 with 4 children and Anna was born 2 and a half months later in Glenshaw, outside of Etna. She was baptized at the Etna Congregational Church, as were at least 6 more children of her parents.
She married Harry Lesher in 1912 and lived in East Pittsburgh Borough. Anna had 3 children, Ira, who died at age 2, Esther, who married Charles Fagan, and Harry Jr.
After the death of her first husband, she married Clifford Barkhamer, known as "Peazer". Anna remained in close contact with her sister Louise Herbig Ferber. Many of her siblings moved to California.
She died in Level Green, Trafford, Westmoreland County, Pa., home of her son, Harry, in February of 1976.
