"Anthony H. Herber, 74, of 219 School St., died at Mercy Hospital at 7:30 o'clock this morning. He was taken ill about three weeks ago and hospitalized the past two weeks.
"Mr. Herber was born in Sheboygan Falls on March 3, 1881. On May 7, 1910, he was married there to Miss clara Drews. They came to Oshkosh in 1923. Mr. Herber had been employed by the Wisocnsin Axel Division for over 20 years prior to his retirement in 1952.
"Surviving besides the wife are two daughgers, Mrs. Elaine R. Steinhilber and Mrs. Audrey L. Kirsch, both of Oshkosh; two sons, Joseph H. Herber and Anthony W. Herber Jr., also of Oshkosh; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Cook, Milwaukee; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
"Funeral services will be held at Spikes, McDonald & Harford Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. K. R. Going of Trinity Lutehran Church will officiate and burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Monday until the time of services."
