John Hepworth who had been ill since March 17th, from the effects of a paralytic stroke died Tuesday evening at the home of his brother Henry north of town. Mr. Hepworth was ill at the home of his other brother, Samuel for some time and has received every care and attention at he hands of his brothers and their families.
The deceased was born in Adrian, Michigan, January 1, 1852. In young manhood he taught school but of later years had been a stone mason by profession. He was man entirely honest in his dealing and commanded the respect of many. He first came to Kansas in 1877 remaining three years. He returned west again about twelve years ago. He was a member of both Corinthian lodge No. 79, A. F. and A. M. and of Temple chapter No. 26, R.A.M. Funeral services are held at two p.m. today at the M. E. church and he is buried with Masonic honors.
