Robert T. Hepburn, 71, of Avon, husband of Helen (Kolzak) Hepburn, died Wednesday, (Nov. 12, 1997), at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He was born May 26, 1926 in Hartford, son of the late Thomas and Mary (Sampeck) Hepburn, and had lived in Windsor prior to moving to Avon 47 years ago.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Hepburn was employed by Southern New England Telephone for 39 years prior to his retirement in 1985. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Avon, a member of SNET Pioneers, a Ham radio operator, and a member of the Insurance City Repeater Club. He was also a member of the Avon Volunteer Fire Dept, serving as Deputy Chief in charge of Communications.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Hepburn of Avon, Lawrence and Lori Hepburn of Canton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Yvette Hepburn, and David and Linda Hepburn all of West Hartford.
Funeral will be Saturday, Nov. 15, 10:15 a.m. from the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, Avon. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery.
