Mrs. Altie E. Brown, 84, 1516 S. Gharkey St., died Wednesday in Ball Hospital . Born in Linton, she had lived in this area 39 years. She was employed at Durham Manufacturing Co. during World War II. Mrs. Brown was the widow of William G. Brown and was a member of the Church of God.
She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Alma Flinn, Lapeer, Mich., Mrs. Laura Antrim, Muncie, Mrs. Trecle Bruce, Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. Mae Snyder, North Webster, and Mrs. Doris Miller, Mrs. Lydia Smith, and Mrs. Inez Kidd, all of Muncie; three sons, Charles E. Brown, with whom she resided, William M. Brown, Muncie, and Eugene Brown, California; a brother, Guy Hensley, Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Hart, Carlisle; a stepson, Harold B. Brown, Terre Haute; 35 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary after 1 p.m. Friday and before services there at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
