Marie T. (Henry) Doucette passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, at South Shore Hospital. She was 85. Marie grew up in South Boston with her late sister Eileen and late brothers Bill, Al and John. She loved going to the beach, where she fancied herself a swimmer in the style of Esther Williams, and enjoyed dancing at Moseley's on the Charles. As a young woman, Marie worked at R.H. Stearns department store in Boston before marrying Francis Stanley Doucette. The young couple settled in Somerville and started a family. In 1962, they moved to Braintree, where their children could enjoy the pleasures of Sunset Lake. They lived in the same home on Central Avenue for the remainder of their lives. Mr. Doucette passed away in 1993. Marie leaves six children, Paul (and Elizabeth) Doucette of Newport, R.I., Marc Doucette of Braintree, Stephen (and Robin) Doucette of Barrington, N.H., Ann (and Stephen) Lucitt of Cohasset, Karen (and John) Foppiani of Brooklyn, N.Y., and David Doucette of Burlington, Vt. She also leaves 12 beloved grandchildren, Danielle, Derek, Ryan, Sander, Dee, Ashlie, Nick, Cameron, Matthew, Scott, Jack and Alice; and one sweet granddog, George. Throughout her life, Marie's faith was of paramount importance and comfort to her, as was giving to numerous charitable organizations, especially those involving children. A funeral Mass for Marie will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree.
